ALL ABOUT ELIS COLE

Where It All Began

Hi. My names Elis Cole. EC for short…
A year ago I started Elis. It was nothing but a project for the future, with no general direction for marketing.
But Elis did not just start there. When I was a kid, I always dreamt of being rich and famous. One day in, I was sitting at my desk. At this time I was around 13. I had listened to several pieces, but for some reason, when I heard the song ‘Little to Close’ by @thewrldmusic it stood out. ‘I want to make music’, I said to myself as I started to open my editor and put random beats together. That’s right. I started on a video editor. Not a daw.
As Halloween approached, I got ready to post my first song ever. It was called ‘kinectic’. Let me just say… it was awful. It had no time scheme and just sounded like noise. But it didn’t stop me. I kept working and I posted the song on the 16th of October.
2 years pass. I get into making music on a DAW, and I learn a LOT about how to mix. I was going through high school, which provided plenty of time for people, video games, and of course music.
But then it all changed. One august I woke up with a bloody stool and was very confused. I went to the doctor the following week to find out I have a disease called ulcerative colitis. This hurt me. I had no clue what to expect in the future.
To add on to the newly found disease, I also had the most impactful relationship of my life end that following January, in 2020. Shortly after, around 2 months later, COVID 19 had stopped all schools and I was left to deal with the most confusing time of my life on my own. Or so I thought.
March 25, 2020. This was the first time me and @noahspir3 streamed. Noah had been my friend for years, and we finally decided that our passion for gaming could let us be a break away for those around us. We both wanted to stream for people, and never with the goal of money. Within a couple months, Noah had hit affiliate, and we started to meet some other streamers, including @cambeasyy @allison0123456 @bhamiltonnn05 . These streamers supported us as we did them, donating and following. This helped our confidence in streaming grow massively. Over the next 10 months, we streamed, pushing each other. Big thanks to Noah for being there for me through this. We never grew much, but had a lot of fun and made a fan base of supporting loving people. I wouldn’t trade them for the world, and most are still in my discord to this day. In January I went back to school and grew apart from streaming. But what I didn’t see, is something others around me had seen for years. My passion for music was still growing, and I continued making music while school persisted.
I also in that last time frame stated a merch collaboration with @try_world_official .Run by @zayah.tapolcsanyi , I was helped to seem more professional. Big thanks to Isaiah, because he’s been a fan since my first few releases, and continues to support my stuff! This really makes me feel motivated to keep producing!
Around 2 months later in March, I released my first release in over a year. ‘Insomnia’, with the help of everyone, was the first of my songs to reach 200 plays overnight. I was so excited, so I carried this momentum and used it for marketing for Mwah and Recovery.
Following came Jumpstart by @parkerjosselyn . I had eyes in this talented singer for a few months, wanting to collaborate very bad. when our paths finally passed, we decided to collaborate on this project. It turned out to be one of my favorite songs to date and made me realize I wanted to focus on making my own sound. I got an obsession for vocals that has lasted to today.
That’s when a couple months later, I get a message from @kalamarimusic .To me, this was insane. Kalamari seemed so far into marketing and I thought I had no chance to collaborate with this artist. So when he hit me up, I felt so special. We got to start on a project called ‘Girl From Japan’. He mixed it, wrote the lyrics, and allowed for me to feature on the release. This was big for me, because I finally got to see the potential my vocals had for music. He made my voice exactly what I wanted.
A month and a half later, I released the song ‘1000photos’. This was the first time I was happy with my voice. Special people to me, including @tsutsujimusic @l0stlessdub promoted and shared this. I started to get a lot of collaboration request, and things all made sense.
This was the turning point.
I started studying music and producing so much, that I had little time to market. I was learning so much, that there was no time to market. From wake to sleep, one thing was on my mind. ‘Music’.
Fast forward to today. It’s clicked. My project of Elis is over. From here out, I am Elis Cole.
Big thanks to this people mentioned again. Y’all helped me grow so much, so thank you. Also thank you to photographers who give me stuff to post every time I’m running low on material. Thank you to @jb_del/ @djayko_music , @colby_reality , @yuhlish_art , @ethangarvey_films / @mastereeth and @wyatt_e_02 . You all had an important story too in certain parts that I left out (or else I’d be typing for years). Thank you to everyone who I didn’t mention too. Y’all help me everyday and give me a reason to keep trying! Love you all
Lastly thank you mom and dad for supporting me over the last year through this learning and growing of responsibility to maintain myself and still grow a second person.
I loved Elis. It was a fun Project, but it’s time to move onto something bigger.
Welcome Elis Cole.
